my head will flood with pounding blood
raw knife in screaming white
none like time can bed us down
can stand through winters stormy skies
unharmed by desserts shifting lies
can turn on them and frown

the darkness swells in through my eyes
and in a voice all to familiar
come the whispers, come the lies

with me walks a man in black
in his hands he holds all that will crush and take

~
"child here I stand so near that you may hear no other
listen closely to my words, closer than a brother
life unravels quickly from this wheel built of time
so follow fast behind me and taste of the divine
my dearest friend perhaps you know me best as something fake
misunderstood I think I am, for your sorrows I can slake.
this road I’ve walked a thousand years and will walk a thousand more
beaten lies my path behind and those who've tasted of my store
for a hundred years I sulked these crags with only you in mind
I have eternity put in a dream if you’d only be so kind
dreams of lazy gardens where vibrant flowers grow
walk with me and talk a spell I’ve something here to show
wickedness yes once it was but now grown so familiar
like a drug you've taken far too long, so long it doesn’t fill you
I’ve dressed it up a bit my son, to make it seem appealing
but I’ve no need to mask myself you know what it is I’m dealing
GIVE ME THAT LIFE TO WICH YOU CLING
THAT SOUL FROM OUT YOUR CORPSE I'LL RING
YOU CAN'T TURN BACK MY DEAREST FRIEND
YOU'VE SEEN MY FACE AND MET YOUR END
PERHAPS THE NEXT WONT BE SO WEAK
SO QUICK HIS PLEASURES HERE TO SEEK..."
~

break your want of happiness
your need of everything
only then can we soar like those whispers
like delicate symphonies swim off the tongue
some with power over our shadows
one day your ship will fast away
one day the anchor haul
so leave the sadness with his own
leave the hate to walk alone
when going out
part of these black gowns as friends
to sing as the summer sun
easy have we rose above
