ONE BIG LIE
I find that as we get older
It gets harder to express who we really are.
As kids, we are true to ourselves and to our friends.
Really, it's at its worst when we become teenagers.
We want so badly to fit in that we change ourselves
To match who people want us to be.
And soon, we forget who we started out as.
Yet, the worst part is,
Is that once we sit down and think,
We realize that our entire lives are based on lies.
So, maybe some of us will find ourselves,
and others who don't really care, won't.
Those who don't care always forget the most important thing:
People like us for who we really are;
not for what we've done or what we have.
If that's why they like us,
They are not even worth fussing over.
So, it's really up to us; as individuals.
Will we attempt to find ourselves?
Or are we just going to live
something that is just
One Big Lie?
