Where you there when I walked for the first time?

Did you hear my first world?

When my mom taught me how to ride a bike did you watch me smile and lose my balance?

Did you hold my hand and whisper in my ear "it's going to be ok" before i had my surgery?

When i got my braces did you tease me and call me metal mouth?

When he broke my heart did you hold me close and tell me I am much better than him?

Will you be there when I graduate high-school?

When I go off to college will you be proud?

When he gets down on one knee will you give him consent?

Will you be a loving granddad when my first child is born?

It's sad how one simple word can answer all these questions.

No, I will not call him my father.
