My Sleepless Nights

I have trouble sleeping a lot, and I thought it might be nice to write a poem about Insomnia.

The night's I've spent
Just lying awake,
Are all lost to me now

Oh I'd love
To fall in slumber;
But it seems I've forgotten how.

There seems no point
In closing my eyes
When I'm too tired to fall asleep

The worried thoughts
That haunt my mind
In my darkness start to creep.

Sometimes I wonder
What it's like
To sleep the nights away

No anxiety to hold you down.
No worry
For the very next day.

The darkened lines
Beneath my eyes
Will be bold before the morn

My head is heavy
My yawns grow more
And my body feels quite warn.

This day has
Been so very long
Before it's even begun

My eyes are sealed
As the horizon reveals
The streaks of the morning sun.
