They call it a month of love,
But I disagree,
For real love doesn’t work like that
It does not limit itself to specific durations
But should be there always,
So as we celebrate this month,
And during all the other months that follow,
Let us show love to all
To the man begging on the streets,
To the boss sitting in his office,
To the family in a refugee camp,
To the family in a comfortable home
Let us love all,
For I believe each and everyone of us,
No matter the situation we are in,
Have something to be thankful for,
No matter how small.
And as we spread love around,
We give someone else the need to be thankful,
Love is out in plenty,
As much as we give,
We will sometime receive,
And, who knows?
As you walk around spreading love,
You may meet your better half,
Right at the next corner!
