THE MISTRESS

Poem By: whitehart

My family is going through a hard time currently over some 'mistress' that my dad preferes to keep and chase my mom out. I guess that kind of explains where this piece kind of came from. View table of contents...

THE MISTRESS

He comes to me

My finger beckoning not for him

He picks me

When I don’t consider myself a choice

He cheats me

When that’s all I expect him to do

He lavishes me

When I know it’s all with strings attached

He uses me

When all but his libido comes a calling

But you are right

I will never have his ring on my finger

For it is on yours already
But my ring is on his dick

And until another comes forth

I will soak in its control

I enjoyed this. It has very nice form that conveys a subtle struggle between the two parties, but told from the side of the mistress. At least that's what I get out of it. In any case, good work.

Yeah, I was trying to write it from the mistress point of view. Glad it came across well. Thank you for the comment Steve. Take care

Thanks a lot. Glad you liked it. Did a quick check before I posted this one!

Dear Whitehart,
Greetings from Freiburg, Germany. Thanks for sharing your poem.
I liked it immensely because it was written from the point of view of the mistress. How about letting us know, in another poem, the view of the male lover or 'user.' That would be also interesting but you don't have to do it if you don't want. It was just a thought. Keep the creative juices flowing...
Regards,
Satis

Hey Satis,

Thanks for the comment. I hadn't thought of writing it from the male perspective, but it is not such a bad idea. I think I'll see what I can come up with. I did do a writing from both the male and female perspective....Letting go and Letting go Michaels Version, and it turned out ok. Have a look at it whenever you can. Once again thanks for the suggestion and comment. Take care.

Great approach Deb

Thanks a lot Brian

Very strong and emotional feelings here. I agree with 4yetile, about doing a different perspective. I do enjoy the 'mistress' perspective, though. Very interesting. Also, maybe do it from your own personal perspective.

Thanks for the comment Conrad. I will do both perspectives and see how it turns out, hopefully sometime this week. Thanks a lot.

Good that she could speak her mind out...

Thanks for the comment. I think most of the time mistresses do know they are being used.

You should read my flash 101 entitled Barfing In A Bowl 101 and you'll know my thoughts on this subject.

Really well written and isn't it too bad? Third parties just don't get it.

Thanks for the comment.Your piece is going to my reading list and I will read it asap.

Also, it truly breaks my heart to read this from the eyes of a child of circumstance who didn't ask to be there. Keep writing and set your soul free.....

Thanks Peach. It's always more painful to deal with consequences of someone else's choices...thanks again for the comment.

This poem is filled with a harsh reality. Well written!
