Enchanted Lies

Running into the storm at night,

tossed aside in the hellish winds.

Torn apart like an old doll,

the ink runs down the paper.

Spoken words of gold to me,

why did you lie?

Torrent raindrops leave cuts on my flesh,

dreamt of better nights with you.

Lost in the sea of denial,

face covered in shadows.

Whispered words crawl underneath my skin,

shackled to you through the emptiness.

Staring at the ruined paper,

full of dead words and lies.

Whisper to me,

whisper of spite and malice.

Your love is a corpse from hell.

Dress me in a gown of copper,

chant death to me in harmony.

Awaken the mortal beast within,

draining the energy from my body.

Stealing my dreams and desire,

breaking my spirit without remorse.

Speaking to me in double fashion,

darkly gaze from the flames of perdition.

Standing in the hallway of glass,

slit these wrists for your glory.

Nevermore, I say.

Nevermore, I say.

Even in the rotting fountains of fallen Gods,

facing the iron point of loneliness now.

I best face these hours without you,

torn apart like a battle scarred city.

undertones of anguish and anger,

down to my knees with a dagger to my throat.

Living in a fantasy world,

burnt alive by your touch.

I rather face the demon of now,

wicked kisses only brought sorrow and death.

Ripping at my chest with fingernails,

screaming to heaven with rage.

Nevermore, will I adore?

Nevermore, I say.
