Perhaps I may have only two
Choices, but I still fancy that
I am not a shrew.
Whom should I kiss;
The frog or the snake?
The snake, he might hiss
The frog, he might fake
Shall I kiss the snake who has a poisonous bite?
Or shall I kiss the frog who is ugly with all his might?
My friends say,
"The snake, the snake! What a horrible frog!"
And I reply,
"But what if the frog turns out to be a handsome prince?"
The snake with his cunning, gleaming eye
The frog with his warty, disgusting slime
However, I shall not take a chance
Nor will I submit to others' trance
And so I choose the frog
But alas, the frog
Is merely a frog.
Perhaps I should have listened after all
As now I see that he was not a snake,
But a mighty dragon
