Scene 1. The First Day
FADE IN:
INT. HOUSE, BEDROOM- EARLY MORNING
A boy is rushing around a house in the bedroom. He is about the age of 12. A voice comes in and the boy is still rushing. The voice is JOHN.
NARRATOR
Yep. That’s me rushing for the first day in Junior High. It’s a new school and a new year. I’m hoping this year will be different than the last years of my life. Because I mean we are in junior high now! We are practically teenagers. Teenagers don’t mock each other for being different. Right? My mom called me from downstairs.
JOHN’S MOTHER calls from downstairs.
MOM
Little Johnny.
NARRATOR
That was my nickname for my mom. My name is John. I hate that nickname.
MOM
Hurry up before you’re late! You don’t want to be late for your first day. Do you?
NARRATOR
Yes but I couldn’t tell her that.
JOHN
No mom. I’m on my way as we speak.
MOM
Good! Now hurry up and don’t be late! I’m going to start the car up.
NARRATOR
Whoop-de-do for you! Now I’m going to brush my teeth really slow so you know how I feel.
CUT TO:
INT. A SCHOOL- DAY
NARRATOR
First day and the first step to a new life as a mature teen.
