We're in the process of rolling out some enhancements to the rating and listing system on Booksie. The new changes will better categorize X rated work to prevent suprise and discomfort for readers and the writers of X rated material.

X rated material will no longer be displayed in several "public" areas on Booksie, including the home page and the main Read page. Instead X rated material will appear within the individual genre listings, via search, via tags, and on the author's Booksie page.

Erotica will be most impacted by this change. Erotica will now be listed in the Erotica genre and on the author's Booksie page. This allows Erotica writers to write and post at will without fear of offending other readers on the site. Under the new system, if someone is reading erotica, they were looking for it. Erotica can also still appear on the site's Top 20 lists. Other X rated work will also appear within their genres and on their author's Booksie page.

If someone wants access to X rated material, they only need to click the genre category or search for it.

We made these changes based on your input and hope they lead to a better publishing and reading experience. Thank you.

I'd be happy to answer any question you have.

Yay! Thank you so much! I'm glad you guys decided to do this. This will make a lot of people happy. I'm only 14 and I must say, it's disturbing to see such work displayed. But that's just me. I'm not into the stuff. Thanks again! =) mandy

I'm like Chicka19, not into it. Thanks a lot, i dont have to worry about ending on the wrong floor in the elvator.

By the way, i have two problems:
1. How can i put images in my writing, that comes from my homedrive?

2. Everytime i try to delete something i have done it remains. How do i get rid of the work i no longer want? I keep pressing delete like i suffer from obsessive compulsive behaviour.

i think this is a sensible policy.

I like that too. I can't stand to read erotica right out front. It causes me too many moral issues.

Someone has been giving me comments, i can read them and all but it shows no name, so i dont know who it is. This person is not bothering me by the way, i really want to know why it doesnt show a name at all.

I'm not sure. I'll have to take a look. Readers can post comments to your posted work without logging in but they should need to leave a name.

Right decision, each genre into its drawer. But, to get into the top 20 by popularity and rating only? I'm not impressed, as the poems are not reviewed by judges, if only for spelling and grammar mistakes, and there are quite a few!
I suppose the volume is too great to review each post by a person who knows something about poetry. I also noticed that nobody seems to post critical comments... just a thought, maybe have a separate section for this, so poets can discuss and learn from each other. It is hard to know how my poems are viewed by others, sometimes, people don't get the real meaning of words, in order to change something for a broad audience, I need to know. What do you think?
thanks,

swallowplunge,

the site works in a democratic fashion. the work that is most read and highly rated goes to the top. it's up to all of you to decide what makes it to the top.

in terms of critical comments, we have a whole site dedicated to that at www.thenextbigwriter.com. booksie is a publishing site while thenextbigwriter is a writer's workshop.

*clears throat*

YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!

*blushes*

Sorry, it's just I'm very happy that you've done this. I read one poem and didn't even realize what it was before:

****************
******
She ********
And I ****************
So we ******* **** *********
And then we ****
Which led to **************
*************************** ***

And all that made me blush a deep red and stop breathing. Okay, so that never really happened. Not EXACTLY, but something pretty dark close to it. I was afraid to let my mom look at the booksie home page at one point cause all that I saw was:

My AMAZING night
When I spent the night with a young...
Tags: *** **** ********* ****** *******

And:

My lust filled life
My personal ******* adventures and explorations.
Tags: **** **** ******** ******************

I'm having fun with this. AHHHHHH I'm using up like a BILLION percent of my comment. *laughs weakly*

Toodles, and thanks!!! I cannot express (any better then I already did) how much I LOVE this!!!!!!!!

WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
