One wonders where the sense of justice lies in the heart of man. For years woman have had a tide of mans self belief to fight against to get justice for themselves. Not that long ago woman were rejected as being unfit to become doctors because they were woman. The fight to attain the vote was once again a fight against the insistence that the male of the species knew best, and it was up to him to decide the future and direction of the country. So for many many years the decision making process was confined to the male domain, and intellect meant nothing and your place in society depended on the type of genitalia nature had bestowed upon you. There is no doubt that the aggression built into the male may very well have contributed to his survival in the days when one had to hunt for dinner with club and stone. But once we had progressed past that point it seems a little ludicrous that one section of an intelligent species should keep down the partners of that same species. To move on, we have in this world made efforts to right this wrong to some extent so one may think that there is not a lot more distance to travel along this road. WRONG! Imagine if you will that you (the female readers that is) have taken a lift from someone that you know but is not a member of your family. On the way home he pulls into a lonely spot and then rapes you. You did not seek this, nor could you prevent this, nevertheless the assault was made upon you and after the man had satisfied his lust he then lets you go. What would you now expect to happen? Suppose that you went to the police and reported it, but instead of the police taking action against the rapist they took you to court and found you guilty of inciting this act. Your sentence by the court upon your person was that you were to be whipped two thousand times. Never happen you say? Not on this earth? No one would dare do such a thing? Wrong. The courts in Saudi Arabia have just sentenced a woman to two thousand lashes for being raped. Yes not only has she suffered the indignity, pain and humiliation of being raped but she is the one that is being blamed for it, on top of which she is to receive two thousand lashes for it. I as a male of the species find this an utter abomination and disgrace to my sex. I see this as a way of shuffling the blame for this act onto the victim. Once more man takes care of man and women come off second best. It is not for me to champion the woman’s cause. But it is up to the woman of this world to do it, so what are you woman going to do about it, sit back in your comfort zone and thank god it hasn’t happened to you? Or are you going to fight this insult and injustice that has been placed on all those of the female gender. This kind of barbarity went out five hundred years ago in the west. Make your voices heard; you have the power of the pen, use it. I know that my voice is one that is carried on the wind and no one will hear it. No one will act on it, but at least I made the attempt.

Greetings Mate. Its been a while.

New piece and I stole top spot.
This is interesting to be sure. Equality of the sexes is lacking in many places. The Arab thing is honestly shocking but then again it is their culture. You and I can in no way compare ourselves to them as the whole history is entirely different.
On a small side note this piece doesn't seem to flow as well as your others? Slightly more stocky than I am used to.

It would however be interesting to see the flip side of the coin. Perhaps one of us should write something about the abuse of "equality"

As always, just a thought.

Itmay not flow,it was wtitten this morning when I saw it on the news. I was totally enraged by the unfairness of the situation. To say that this woman was to blame is like saying my son was to blame for being beaten over the head with an iron bar by one of his employees. Because he happened to have a head. To move on to it being their culture, fatwa is part of their culture as well as honour killing but does this make it right. If it seems a bit off the wall this morning its because I am still coming down from the anger I feel. Perhaps I should have written it tomorrow or even this afternoon. If you need further information on this, try the web its all over that. Believe me when I say I could write pages on this.

This is not good for my blood pressure!
