*A Quote Challenge*

I used to use labels all the time. I would have considered myself popular or cool either of those titles seemed to fit but looking back, the word plastic comes to mind. I was the quarterback on the school football team, I got all the girls I wanted, and I always had some nerd who wanted to be like me doing my homework. I tried to stay away from the nerds unless I had work that needed to be done they were clingy. The "gangsters" were always trying to act tough and pretend they knew the streets. We all knew they wouldn't last a day in the city, but they always assimilated at the end of the day. Then there were the kids who were emo, goth, and scene. My friends and I always used to joke about how we thought they acted and looked. They were just so… different. I was in between classes when Stella and I met.

I was walking past the bottom of one of the small stair well when a saw a shadow coming towards me and heard a slight scream. I felt a medium sized body tumble on top of me and I fell to the ground dropping all my books. When I looked up, I saw papers fluttering to the ground.

"I'm so sorry! Oh geeze look what you did this time Stella." I sat up and saw a girl kneeling gathering her papers. She had white skin and she had on heavy black eye makeup above and below her grayish eyes. Her hair was mainly a dark, dark brown with a few streaks in it. She had two piercing on her bottom lip. One on the left the other one the right. I couldn't stop staring. She was emo, but she was beautiful, something I never knew was possible.

"It's okay." I tried not my best not to smile but when she sent one towards me, I found it impossible not to flash my pearly whites. "I'm sorry but did those hurt?" I blurted out.

"Oh my snake bites? Yeah, a little, but I think it was worth it. Don't you think?" She started to giggle and we both broke out in laughter. The warning bell rang and we rushed quicker to pick up our stuff.

"So, I'm John." I said while stretching my legs and standing straight.

"Stella. Well, I have to get to class, I'll see you around." She waved and walked away smiling and I did the same.

The Next week was the start of a new semester and Stella just so happened to be in my art and chemistry. Everyday we sat next to each other, talked, and worked together when we had partners. Stella and started to talk and get close. We talked about a bunch of stuff. There were days we talked about music, food, TV shows, and a whole bunch of other stuff. We started to get close and went on dates.

One day when we went on a date. Stella said, "Its weird we have been in school together for years. I wonder why we never even knew each others names until a few weeks ago." I thought to myself about the real reason, because I never knew she was all I ever wanted I turned to her and told her something I had been thinking to myself.

"Because you are what I never knew I always wanted." She tilted her head to the side the way she always did when she was confused. "You're different. I never really wanted or thought different was special or beautiful but it is, and I have always wanted beautiful. I didn't pay you a second thought until recently. Yes I was stereotypical and no, I never thought you would be the amazing person you are until I got to know you." She smiled and I knew it was all going to be okay.
