I never got to say goodbye

Just because we had to part,
Doesn't mean thats the end of it,
In fact it's only the start;
As long as you love me,
You'll always live in my heart.

I never got to say goodbye thats the worst part,
But I know when you left you secretly said goodbye to my heart.

Every time I think about it pain is all I feel,
I find myself wishing it all wasn't real.

It seems so unfair and yes that's true,
I'd give anything to talk to you once more,
To see you walk through the door,
And tell me everything's going to be okay for sure. 

But now,  you're in a better place,
No more hurt or pain will you have to face
