This is one of my older poems, but still one of my favorites so I thought I'd bring a few of them from my book "The Rambles of SheaRyhai" and post them here :) Hope you enjoy.

Fairy Tale Lie

by SheaRyhai (c) 2009

Let's write your happy ending

love so true, life worth living,

fairy tale spiced with pretending

no pain exists, all is forgiven.

It hurts to smile but I will try,

It's not like you would ever ask why.

Let's draw up the Prince Charming

corrected and edited to your wish,

never demeaning, never harming

always sunrise with our kiss.

It hurt to love but I will try,

It's not like you feel it when I cry.

Let's plan the marriage complete with bells

white doves flying, flowers fragrant,

no need for makeup, eye's wont swell

say your "I do"s never "I can't".

It hurts to let you run my life,

till death do us part I play the wife.

Let's build the castle stone by stone

mighty, strong, safe, secure,

not a prison where I feel alone

not shackled to bed by your love pure.

It hurts to let you open the door,

so why should we write anymore.

Shut the book its not worth reading

let it fade upon the shelf,

keep living life as if dreaming

fairy tale girls don't need any help.

It often hurt to say goodbye,

but to say so now would be a lie.
