Chores the farmer and his lazy dog Snores,

jumped into the pickup and set out to find more.

More signs of autumn, the changes and all,

more signs of the season, often called fall.

They went to a park just a few miles away,

a great place to go on a warm autumn's day.

The fall colors were beautiful, so brilliant and bright,

the trees of many colors were an awesome sight.

As Chores admired the colorful trees,

Snores playfully chased the falling leaves.

Squirrels were out scampering around,

gathering acorns that had fell to the ground.

A flock of geese flew overhead,

traveling south for the winter ahead.

Chores and Snores enjoyed being at the park,

but soon it was time for them to depart.

Chores had to get back to work on the farm,

and Snores had to get back to his bed in the barn.

So with Snores beside him asleep on the seat,

Chores started the pickup and drove off down the street.
