“Poems of Life”

“Birth”

A miracle, a wonder, as sight to see!

A new born baby is here, so welcome the boy!

No matter what he looks like now,

Will change when he is older and filled with glee!

“Childhood”

Fun is always on his mind,

Every dad, every night, day after day!

It never stops!

He is never restrained by the ties that bind!

Never caring about insurance or debt,

Enjoying life is only his first job.

Life is just a game that is all fun,

Only when he is tired will he fret.

“School”

“BAM!” It’s all gone!

His childhood disappears, and the books are in.

He works his hands to the bone,

And he does it until it is done.

He has friends now, who help him,

Fight off foes who wish harm.

But what will they do when the time comes,

To move on from their friend’s friendly bin?

“Love”

Work gets tough for him from here on,

Until he meets her in the hardest course,

They help each other understand,

But their friendship is replaced and gone.

Affection takes its place with love,

It is everlasting and undying.

At last, his proposal is accepted,

And she gladly accepts... with love.

“Matrimony”

At last, the couple weds!

Everyone cheers as they leave the church,

The bride throws her bouquet away,

And they leave as quickly as Auntie did to Uncle Fred.

“Parenthood”

They keep calm as they help their kids,

The kids who are now going to school.

With their coats and bags,

They go off with their lunches with lids.

As they go to the bus, the parents watch,

How they grew so fast.

When they come home, they will have much to tell,

But now the parents ready themselves with some scotch.

“Growing Old”

After years filled with gold,

He and she retire to the quiet world.

Nothing is there to bother them,

Except the fact that they grow old.

“Finis”

A knock at the door is not opened,

And Death intrudes on in.

It calls for the now old woman,

Whose time has just ended.

But the man, once a boy, stops Death,

Saying that he wishes to stay with her.

They are inseparable now,

And Death takes both with a quick breath.

FINIS

CanadianIdiot:

Most epic. Interesting rhyming scheme. 1st and 4th line of each verse. Most worthy effort.

Rythm could be improved by trying to achieve the same number of syllables (+/- 1) in each line within a verse or in each corresponding line between verses. Just a thought.

Happy trails,

Ed Bradley.

Its never come to me to write this stuff. It was just to take some time up so I could post something. Thanks for enjoying it!

I liked it, but, wow, this guy's life get's boring when he's old. Hmmm... I wonder if his wife's a nag.. probably not or he'd be happy for her to die, I know I would. ^_^ (so mean)
