Part six in the 50 Words project.

This is actually a piece I had given up on, confident that it would never be completed with only 50 words. I started writing, though, hoping that it might turn out good anyway... but when I stopped to look it through, I found that I had unintentionally written 50 words, on the mark.

A thick veil of dainty pearls covers the somnolent town in the early hours,
like an unearthly blanket wrapped around a sleeping baby.

A lonely string of gold weaves its way through the dense grey curtain.
It runs through the streets, bouncing off walls, covering every corner with golden kisses.
