Retaining Blood

I'm retaining blood,
Underneath my skin.
It bubbles up,
And barely stays in.

I'm retaining blood,
To stay alive.
I'm retaining blood,
So I won't shrink in size.

I'm retaining blood,
So I can breathe.
I'm retaining blood,
And the day I seize.

I'm retaining blood,
So I can think.
I'm retaining blood,
So my mind won't sink.

I'm retaining blood,
Because I can.
I'm retaiing blood,
So I can tan.

I'm retaining blood,
Just for you.
I'm retaining blood,
And I want to.

I'm retaining blood,
Without a doubt.
I'm retaining blood,
Afraid to shout.

I'm retaining blood,
So my clothes won't stain.
I'm retaining blood,
So it won't wash away in the rain.
