-the Midnight Poet-

Novel By: Itsuwari
Poetry

Not really a 'novel' but I'm calling it that anyway. It's more of a very long, very sad, very true series of poems. I'll be posting the rest of the chapters over the next couple weeks or so. Hope you enjoy. View table of contents...

Future lovers walk
Hand in hand
Engulfed in loving bliss
Lips touch in fallacy’s kiss
Her beauty matched by no other
There love pure as fallen feather
They lie on the hill
There bodies still
Watching the stars
Nobody knows
In solitude in shared affection
He turns to her to ask a question
His voice is soft like silent breeze
As nervousness grows into ease
She smiles lips parted to speak an answer
Her voice echoes to him
They stare up again
His heart beats faster
Reassured and relaxed
They sit very close
In their place that nobody knows
But they must go
For night has fallen
Their mothers call them
Though children now
You might be surprised how
One yes can change a life.
