POEMS ABOUT YOU
Just Friends
We’re friends
Just friends
Nothing more
Nothing less
We share secrets
And divulge dreams
All except one
Because we’re just friends
You hold my hand
It gives me butterflies
But I don’t tell you
Because we’re just friends
I rest my head on your shoulder
You don’t mind
It doesn’t mean anything
Because we’re just friends
I miss you when you’re gone
Everything reminds me of you
We’ll never be together though
Because we’re just friends
We’re friends
Just friends
Nothing more
Nothing less
I Told Him So
He needed to know
So I told him so
But he said he already knew
It felt so right
And I wasn’t surprised
He said he’s liked me too
We simply stood there
Then I brushed back my hair
All he could do was smile
However, behind that grin
Regret and sadness crept in
The feeling had been mutual all the while
So much time wasted
Because we hesitated
It was probably the biggest mistake ever
We thought it was smart
To not follow our heart
Now our “could be” now may be a “never”
Thinking
Laughing at you
Laughing at me
Inside jokes
Endlessly
Nerdy games
Late nights
Boat trips
Silly fights
All that time
Spent together
Friends for life
Friends forever
Now you’re gone
So far away
I miss you more
Every day
Talk to me
Let me know
You’re thinking of me too
Just tell me so
My Heart Has a Key
My heart has a lock
It could’ve open for you
I wanted you to try
I think you wanted it too
My heart has a key
I offered it to you
But you didn’t accept
Not sure what to do
I can’t unlock it myself
If I were able I would
I’d invite you inside
You’re still not sure you should
Too confused
Too unsure
Too hesitant
Too late
You took too long
Now the offer’s gone
I found someone new
The key holder isn’t you
