MISSING YOU
How Long
Ridges and rivets
On my finger tips.
Unable to do anything
But think of you.
Cold tiles
Against my shoulder.
All I can do
To stay on my feet.
How long has it been since I’ve felt your touch?
Lay down.
A thousand scalding raindrops
Beat a rhythm against my skin.
Creeks and streams
Navigate valleys of flesh.
Immersed in steam
And visions of you.
Aching deep in my core.
How long has it been since I’ve seen your face?
Damp air
It fills my lungs.
Breathing deep to chase away tears.
The traitorous droplets
Peeking out from the corners of my eyes.
I am strong, independent.
I am stubborn.
You’re just a silly boy.
How long has it been since you stole my heart?
Piece of You
Comfy and soft
From wash and wear.
I need it most
When I need you there.
When nights are cold,
Long, and dark
Missing you
Can get so hard.
The colors of a school
I’ve never been to
Before there was “us”
Just me, just you.
Hand-me-down shirt
That’s all it is.
A small piece of you
Special kind of gift.
A Moment
I want a lifetime,
But right now I’ll take a moment.
Our bodies pressed together,
So tightly one heart bounces off the other,
If only for a single beat.
The warmth of your embrace,
It can chase away the cold,
For weeks between visits.
But I want you,
Need you now.
Like an addict,
I’m having withdrawals.
Shakes and shivers.
The taste of your lips will ease the pain.
I need to drink in your scent,
Take a long drag of the aroma that is you,
Feel my hands in your hair,
While yours explore my curves,
Holding me tight as if you’ll never let go.
If only for a moment,
A sliver of time.
I need a fix.
