I saw you the other day.
You with your head down,
Shoulders curled forward.
I wanted to call out to you,
Scream at you,
"You're beautiful."

I didn't though.
You were stories below,
Separated from me by thick glass.
I don't know you.
Never met you, never will, but
You're beautiful.

I wish I could help.
Chase away whatever is weighing you down,
Crushing your posture
Tugging at your heels as you shuffle along the sidewalk.
I want to do this for you because
You're beautiful.

I'm not sure where you've gone now,
But there are plenty more like you.
So for anyone who needs to hear it,
Anyone experiencing life's inevitable bumps and bruises,
Pick your head up, try to smile, and know
You're beautiful

Room 177

Brick Building
Octagonal windows
Green streams of decomposition
Etched stone banner
Knowledge Experience Happiness

Two trees
Close and intertwined like lovers
Two lovers
Sitting on a brick wall

Unlit lampposts
Dead remains of autumn leaves
Branches bare and brittle

Cars and CABS busses
Clock tower in the distance

Bikes patiently awaiting their owner's return

The blinds on the window
My prison
The teacher in the suit jacket
My warden
The students copying notes
My colleagues

My mind wanders
To far off places
Somewhere outdoors
Somewhere warm

Red brick walk
Some call Long

Imposing bronze statue
Standing watch

Romantic story
Hear the bells

From a circular tower
Where gargoyles guard

Clock tower alight
Where it all began

Lake and fountains
Named for a looking glass

Large stone path
Leading down
Leading away

From that oval-shaped

A little Alliteration

Business building
Dwarfs dorms
White windows

Bare Branches
Bent by breeze
Sun shining
Welcomed warmth

Rumbling in the distance
Air smells of spring
Incessant tapping on the window
New cleanliness as grime washes away
