With hoops set too high,
And limitless sky,
We lit the fire and set the traps.

Calling all mishaps:
All aboard for twelve more laps,
The carnivorous night our only friend.

Just around the river bend,
An unseen cat forever grinned
He'll destroy you in a sentence.

Questioning existance,
Reprimanding resistance,
And the guillotine was sharpened.

Take two steps from what you penned,
Snowglobe shake. The world? Upend.
Flakes settling on eyelashes.

Flakes or fluff or burning ashes,
Smothering forgotten masses,
Trust the minority, we know it best.

Green leaves and aced tests,
Engraved on the underbelly: lest
We forgot.
