I know one hundred ways to end my life
but not one way to live
I know a thousand ways to take away
but not one way to give
I know a million ways to say "I hate"
but never say "I love"
I'm on the path to the below
but pray to the above
You can't get something for nothing
but you can give nothing a fighting chance
You can't fight alongside glory
but you can be strong in your stance
You can follow the easy and rot to evil
Or take Difficulties' hand and not lose sleep to retrieval
You can follow the paths and get lost in the crowd
Or you can be a fool on a hill and refuse to be cowed
I try to be good, honest, and fair
but I lose my way and become unaware
I've got to get ahead, strive beyond middle-class
I apply my efforts to increase my mass
I never met the girl I loved
I met someone with money and dreams got shoved
My children were empty so hate filled them in
I forgot I was a leader destined to win
I did the right thing, the right thing for me
but I trampled so much and dashed so many
What is good? And where can I find it?
Am I destined to fate and the sins I commit?
I can't turn back now but I can't plow ahead
The only good that exists is better off dead
I have no instructor, no rules, and no clue
I want to be righteous, but what can I do?
