When it's your turn I bet you won't be around
You'll be long gone and the others will say
I told you so,
He ain't gonna show.
I bear all the weight till I take no more,
Collapse and I hit the floor,
It was all too much,
Reality is out of touch.
So thanks for all your help,
All the favors you pulled,
To get yourself ahead,
And leave us all behind.
Left in your dust,
And dust tastes bitter
You aren't gonna forget her.
You'll see her face soon enough
When you stand for what you believe in,
Only to have the foundation crumble,
It takes so much to get back up,
It takes pride to rise from rubble
You can put us aside,
But you can never forget us
We made you who you are
We cheered for you,
We held you high,
Without us you wouldn't have gone far
The forgotten will not forgive,
Our hearts are beaten,
But as long as they're beating,
We won't forget you live.
To give it all and get nothing back,
Leaves you empty,
You never returned,
You don't deserve what we earned
On borrowed time and borrowed favors,
You have built your empire,
High above us, in low opinion
We will cause your downspin.
