What I'd Give To Be Colorblind

Poetry By: AaronDawnire
Poetry

This is a poem about being casted aside, shoved away and wanting to hear a reason why. It's angry and it's bleak. It's also a bit maniacal, like to loneliness is driving you crazy and psychotic. Loneliness is referred to as an actual physical being and the poem is recited by "her" side.

fathers!

please, bless our names

mothers!

please, give us momentum to stay

right now is the time

your clocks will unwind

and you will mumble in wonder about what you've become

i'm trying to fly away

but i only have one wing

friends!

grow out your limbs for once

lovers!

acknowledge: your senses teach false

you're feathered malfunctions who beg for their loss

you beg for your sins

and you beg for their cost

you're a pile of drunken bones

staked up, so neat

but just for this once i fucking dare you to speak

all is new and times are golden

eclectic art and freedom galore

our golden chains are molten

by something wealth can't restore

killers!

gossip 'bout being safe

heroes!

rumor of rescue and peace

boys!

girls!

husbands!

wives!

why be arrogant or ignorant when nothing really dies?

but the carcass won't hear your cries

that's the truth and it might not be nice

but i'd rather be correct than force-feed you any lies

i'm so sorry, but that's my biggest vice

the ghost has been given up

don't make this last forever

escape through the door, sewed shut

we won't make it through together

my petty little mind is decorated with pleasentries and sharp contraptions

i feel rather unorthodox and cold

i also fear that my thinker box is broken

and that my lifeline's coming to a close

lay me down where our mighty couriers have fallen

my bride is an ender of lives

my bride is a collider of times

my bride was built with bloody knives

my bride will embrace, disgrace and smother me until all light dies
