~

I left a handful of stardust behind

In hopes someone someday might find

And then they'll know that I was here

And life to me was very dear.

~~~
Once I kissed a sunset.
To me this was God-sent.
for me to drench in all it's glory
Is a luxury in all it's flurry.
~
Amidst the dust I left behind,
A drop of sunset bliss so kind.
Upon the touch of this you'll find
Sweet melodies in time unwind.
~
GREAT, one of my personal favorites--I think that sunsets are so magical, it's unbelievable how healing they are. wow just thinking of where I was when I first got to know sunsets stirs me inside. thankyou!
Angel's brath and Baby's tears are woven within this poem. Pure tranquility. Wonderful work
thankyou again. another one of my personal favorites.
I've had my dilemas with belief over the years, with God or no god, and such, but every time I see a an awesome sunset I think that it has to be a gift from something.
A wonderful poem, as usual.
oh yes indeed, and I believe we each have the sun within us also - it is a mighty power, and if it is out there, then it is also in here. thanks D for reading. your comments are always appreciated.
I agree ..but then, I already know that your resonance will still be heard ten trillion light years in ever direction from now!
so you have Imortality covered !As does the sunset!
hey thanks so much. I thought you had read and commented on this one before, but obviously no. ya, this was written in 2004 in that magical place called 'revere' when nature became alive to me. some of the best poetry came through me that year, just out of the blue it drifted through (smile)
take care--later.....katie
Awesome poem. I really liked the way you have this one set up. It reads easy and well. Great Job. Lisa
thankyou so much Lisa * when I lived in Revere, it was a small town of barely 100 people. the nature along with peace were vihicles to my new vision and insights. I was healing that year with a huge desire to reach out to the spirit world, via meditation. moving into a bigger town and becoming involved in the community, volunteer work and all were accomplishments yet without the serenity of that little town I do have to try harder to reach those peaks of enlightenment. so much the better when we get there though.
take care .... much love.... katie
THIS MOVED ME!!
Great imagery.
You're a talent!
(SMILES) OH GOOD! LOL! seems like it was a simpler time when this was written; 'before I tried to make too much sense out of the magic and oneness I was experiencing'
this was when I was still in Revere in the begining stages of growth...Thenks again MA! :-)
I'm so glad you liked this one, hope today brings you a peacefulness * katie
i was depressed today for no reason but this poem just revived me...
thanks katie
i should always keep my faith alive
OH GOOD! I am so Happy that this little poem cheered you up!
I like to think that it was not myself but the magical essence of that place that I was in that came through to paper.
Yes to keep the faith alive. well you have been going through much change in your life. the mind has a difficult time with not knowing or adjusting. the mind actually has a difficult time with everything LOL!!! yes things really are much simpler than our imaginings. Place the awareness inside the body and it will take away from the minds negativity.
Does that make sense? I hope so. God Bless you Pratibha.
delicately composed poem; well done.
About the comment you left me--- i actually did write that today as I literally watched the leaves falling from the trees and at first it was very sad for me .. but then i thought ..wait a sec. maybe if i change my attitude it wont feel so bad.. and sure enough .. it turned out to be a great FALL day.
Beautiful poem by the way ^^
hahaah, YES! its jsut that simple huh?
sometimes I feel sad and I know at the same time that if I wish to, I can change that feeling, so then if I choose not to change it I all of a sudden feel ok with it and a comfort sets in that it is ok to be sad for a spell.
Yes yesterday to me too, there was a sad feeling but at the time I was comforted and happy by the smell of fall, and knew that the feelings were only temporary ^_^
hahaah, yes your poem was very nice to read at that time :)
Thanks I'm glad you liked this ~katie
A simply beautiful piece of writing.
I will have to make a trip over to you.
hope all is well
You had me at the opening line, Katie...
"I left a handful of stardust behind..."
What a beautiful thing to say! I'm kind of ashamed that it took me until today to read this early piece of yours. It is splendid indeed.
YOU alone are that handful of stardust.....Jerry
Jerry you mean to say you have never saw this one before?
I thought for sure you had... well I'm very glad that you have now.
this is one of my favs.
well you know Jerr, there are just so many one couldn't possibly ever get to them.
seems like for many artists the theme changes little but for some as your self you never know what your gonna get lol(forest gump line) you know what I mean? even though mine are all diff they for the most part carry much of the same theme. well alot of them do anyway.
haha, well thanks a bunch; I am very glad that you saw this one at last ^_^
Many people in their busy lives,
never stop to admire, the beautiful
things God has created for us.
Sunsets are the canvas, in which
God has painted a picture of his glory
for us all. It is only one of many portraits
he has left for us to admire.
Thank you for your wonderful poem.
Your friend, Angellynn.
Yes I know, and myself as well; sinse of late I have not taken as much time as I should to just watch and enjoy.
Thankyou for your comment as it brings me to know how necessary it is for me to connect again.
*smiles* and *sunshime* ~katie
