Inside this body lives a girl
To me she is my hidden pearl.
Past the wrinkles of my skin
I have wings that spread within.
Past these old and achy bones
Abides a place of hearth and home.
I have riches, I've a pearl;
Inside this body lives a girl.
You may not know me intimately,
But I still see myself as she.
If you could see beyond my face
You too would see her in my place.
I've got riches, I've a pearl;
Inside this body lives a girl.
