Waiting at Midnight

Poetry By: Aleauea

Sort of goes with the whole "behind the glass" theme of Edurices Haunted Song and her Novel The Haunted Song

Night-time falls as you stare,

Standing in the midnight air,

A face looks from behind its past,

One blended into dark black glass.

A voice cries out across the air,

Hoping that one day, somebody will care.

Darkness patiently waits for the day,

Before it begins to fade away.

The sea swims to the beaches aid,

As it has down for so many decades.

But still the voice cries out in need,

And this is now its final plead.

The broken glass conceals its past.

For nothing old can ever last.

The end is near, but still unknown.

You go it with strength, or go it alone.

While waiting in the midnight air,

Another stranger stops to stare.
