A poem I wrote about deception.

I'm not stupid
I'm not blind
I see you there
Sitting on your throne
Your imaginary throne.

Looking down on your subjects
Your imaginary subjects.

Know what I see?
I see you.
Thinking less of people
People who aren't like you.

People who aren't as happy
or as well off
People who decide
that selflessness
is more important
than selfishness.

Know why I'm here?
I'm here to make you realize
That in the ocean of life
It's easy to swim
in the shallow parts.
But easier still
To drown in them.
