I wish I didn’t have to tell you
I wish I didn’t have to feel this
It breaks my heart to know you may never understand
But I couldn’t stay here and let you learn what love is not suppose to be
Though I need your smile to get me through every day
I cannot take you away from the one which gave you life
And though I may painfully miss many of your firsts
I must do what’s best for you
I can’t imagine the confusion this will bring you
Nor the fear which may enter your heart
But know I love you as a father should love his daughter
And know that I will always be here… Always
