A Friend Like You

Sun sets

Stars awaken

Eyes closed

Heart open

*

How lucky I am to have a friend like you

You are loving, genuine, and forever true

Who knew

How close we’d become…

*

In your arms

Locked in your embrace

I can feel you comforting me…

You’re always there

You always care

*

I honestly don’t know what I’d do without you

If you hadn’t come into my life,

How could I have handled all the strife?

You’ve been my knight in shining armor,

You’ve saved me countless times

*

Darling you are extraordinary…

You mean everything to me

If I hadn’t met you

Where would I be?

*

Shh…

Let us sit in the stillness of the night

Let us dance in the moonlight

Let us watch the sunrise

*

Kiss the stars with me

And chase these memories…

*

Seventeen years ago an angel was born

Four months ago I met this wingless angel

I gave him wings again

And now my friend,

We can fly together till the end

Everything you do I fully appreciate

Tonight will be the night you and me celebrate

well, ha, i suppose i'm back for now. i know this poem is like the total opposite of emotion thats in my other new poem. ha. i wrote this poem though before my depressing one. i just waited to post it until it was punishments birthday. but dont get me wrong! i am back! for now. last night was a good night. i feel better. but theres still fear that lingers inside... but its not as strong as it was a couple days ago. anyways - i'm rambling! i'm starting to drift into my thoughts and feelings and a comment reply is not the place to do that! lol so moving on!!

That was so sweet. He must be very lucky to have you as a friend. I love the line "Seventeen years ago an angel was born" It always seem like the one's you love most are so wonderful they seem like angels. Your poem was thoughtful and sweet. Loved it.
