The beams of my soul
Just fallen to the ground
My eyes staring blind
From under a mound

The hell of the day
Will slowly fade away
And there’ll stay a reason
For new goodbyes to say

And to speak of those words
That my heart to me spoke
Once to hiss snaky jokes
Once a wise fool to poke

In my mind’s truest nook
’Tis like a cruel epitaph
To make someone cry
And to make others laugh

My cup forever broken
My scars shall never heal
Decay took my hands
Yet happy I do feel

For cool is the earth
That sleeps its dizzy death
And friendly are the worms
That take my lonely breath

the broken cup causing scars? Now your hands are unable to heal those wounds? I like the subtle directness I see in this writing.
