This is one of my very few non-rhyming, non-metered poems. It sprang up from a writing assignment in English class a few years ago in high school. In a cartoon only and forever,
Like a tilted carousel
At a tainted festival.
I wave goodbye to you and him and her and them and me,
Wander down an alley - am I lost?
Painted dreams, painted walls, painted lies, painted falls.
Painted stranger in the mirror, cartoon face, tainted fun, wave goodbye,
Wander lost,
In an alley,
Painting dreams and
Painting faces.
