Father I loved you with all of my heart,

I was a 12 year old girl when it tore us apart,

The last words I said were the few i most dread,

You walked out angry and I never saw you again,

Now I've got a family and i'm all on my own,

I'll never forget when we would sit down at home,

With Harry on the radio and the boys of summer,

And thinking of you always makes me wonder,

Are you at peace and content with the place that you are,

I hear your voice in my head and it resonates far,

Through the corners of my mind of the love that was mine,

I've been searching in darkness for things I can't find,

If I had one wish I'd give you the proper goodbye,

And take back all of the things that were left behind,

Now every night I lay down and ask myself why,

It took you from me.
