Death Is Not The End

Reaching, grasping, groping,
Losing it all,
Whispering, shrieking, screaming,
Throat is sore,
Running, tripping, falling,
A black pit swallows me.

Denying, forgetting, remembering,
I must forget,
Demons, devils, hellish beasts,
None of it is real,
Blood red waters, waking nightmares,
Hell is only a footfall away.

Abandoned, forgotten, hated,
I’m all alone,
Broken, shattered, smashed,
Hopes and dreams lie on the floor,
Deaf, mute, blind,
Not functioning correctly.

Fear, fright, terror,
Heart beating so loud,
Love, hate, emotional rationality,
A heart can only feel so much,
Ever ending calm, cool reassurance,
A voice crying “Death is not the end”
