Gone Is Nevermore

Poetry By: Amity Willows

This poem makes absolutely no sense to me. I think it's symbolic, but I don't know of what. I do know that I am often greatly inspired by Edgar Allen Poe. the man may have been a little crazy but he's one of history's best poets, in my opinion. :)

Older wounds will disappear,
Give it time, time will heal,
Love is life and life is real,
Life is love and love is fear.

Dagger dripping love lies on the floor,
Black raven flies over Nevermore,
Shadows close in over your world,
Nothing is certain, no one is sure.

On the wind flies uncertainty,
Listen to no-one, listen to me,
Nothing left but to flee,
Beware this new humanity.

Older wounds heal, some never fade,
Stay out of the sun and in the shade,
Seek the solace of the empty glade,
Banish fear, banish hate.

There is nothing left, nothing more,
We are the survivors of a war,
We lock our hearts, lock the door,
There is nothing left, gone is Nevermore.
