Once I walked to the edge of the world,
And was surprised at what I found,
I found no end the world,
And I proved the earth was round.

I found no end to the dark brown earth,
I found no place to rest,
I found no water, my bottle was dry,
My compass was broken, it pointed west.

The land was a desert, all dusty and bleak,
Canyons stretched out of sight,
The buzzards flew in circles,
The cacti pricked the sky,


And I should’ve been disappointed,
But instead the sight filled me with glee,
There is more to the world we’ve not seen yet,
There is no end to the things we might see.
