Somethings can shine bright to those, who believe that their own light is dull.

The Wolf

The pack always howl
But not at the moon.
A team to survive
Through natures duals.

Yet as the cubs play
And mother keeps watch,
The alpha looks up
To the moon his eyes lock.

His paws tremble
His eyes gleam and widen
He drools and pants
For she has surprised him.

Her beam strong
Against the dark, damp wild.
She sees the alpha
And it makes her smile.

Mother and cubs sleep
As the alpha starts to move
Away from his pack
Towards the moon.

But his howl in the eve
Haunts all the leaves
Speeds the lake
And softens the trees.

The moon too far
Yet always in sight
His heart beat quicker
As he bathed in her light.

As dawn approaches
She whispers goodbye.
He whimpers and moans
As she leaves the sky.

The bright sun burns
And shows all in it’s colour
Bounded to the pack
By cub and mother.

Reality kicks in
As he needs to survive
But how he misses
The moon in his sky.
