Can He Hear My Pain?

Poem By: Amy Saleh
Poetry

sometimes it's better to hold back emotion, even if it hurts... even though it hurts less now as i heel, somehow it has to come out and have an audience. maybe it will help someone else acknowledge their pain and heel View table of contents...

Can He Hear My Pain?

He is so close I could smell his newly bathed freshness
But can he hear my pain?
He looks into my eyes and smiles
But can he see my pain?
He talks to me and we share ideas
But can he sense my pain?
We slap wrists and giggle at jokes
But can he touch my pain?
We take long walks together
But can he fathom my pain?
I’d rather he didn’t
He’s too precious to me
