Unspoken Volumes V – Emoticons

She laughs outwardly and cries inside

She swallowed the blade and its pain she can hide

Eyes glistening with grief, shoulders squared with pride

She rips out her own heart and throws it behind

And plods to mend others, open arms, smiling wide

She said life goes on… oh, but she lied

For the world has moved on, leaving her behind

A shapeless heap of love his parallel world might never find
