The darkness of the midnight sky came by

The day came and went

But the sparks came next

The dreams of counting jumping sheep ended

The sparks ignited a fire and so did us

We looked up and the "sky was the color of Jews"

Darkness here, Darkness there

Ungentle hands covered with blood

Came to split our family away from women and man

Oh how the pile became higher

Day by passing day

The stripping of wool, the stinging showers

The suffocating gasses, the burning of whipped flesh

The evil men who bruised us had no expression

There's still more in this world of

Darkness here, Bodies there

The screaming horror filled their sorrows

The burning fire inside wouldn't sleep to make the pain go away

Oh how the pile became higher, higher

Day by passing day

Torture won't go, but we got a clue on a way that would

Darkness here, Ashes there

There has to be a way to stop it all

From the pile becoming higher, higher, higher day by passing day

Though our faith began to fall and there was not the slightest of hope not even a glimmer of hope

Then one man said "Have faith in life, Above all else, have faith."

Some denied the possibilities while many men stayed, skinny and all

Darkness here, Midnight there

Around the corner, to the breathing wall

The war stilled raged and the days went one away one by one

Oh how the pile started to decrease, day by passing day

The day came and we slipped out with smiled on our facades

The last shots of war were made and our road back to life,

Became clear once more

But the scarring memories we wanted to push away

Though we couldn't because father said, "To forget a holocaust is to kill twice."

Black turned Grey, Grey turned White,

Much rejoicing here it comes

Here it comes, here it comes

Darkness there, Sunlight here
