Goodbye to the white house that lodged an entire year
Within it's four walls true love.

Goodbye extensive fields, pulverized roads.
Goodbye poor ranches and poor neighbors.

Goodbye golden fields of wheat, goodbye green pastures,
The refined herbs, those pesky crows...

Goodbye bulls and cows, goodbye horses and mules...
The train will take us to many countries-- countries you never knew.

I know I am a fool, dear house, in leaving you.
The peace that I discovered in you will not ever be found in another.

My adorned table I will not have in my life any longer,
And at night my comfy bed I will not sleep in.

In vain, it smiles, My hopes.
The anguish that depresses me, !Oh, house! Is this your vengeance?

Awe!! This poem was really kindof sweet.
o.O yeah I know. I'm odd.
No but really.
It had this childish innocence to it that I thought was really sweet. ^-^
The last stanza was my favourite I think. XD
Nice work..
Keep it up!

Lol. Thanks so much. I remember leaving my home for twelve years last year. It was sad, but then again we moved into a bigger house so it's so much more convenient. :)

To me, the hardest thing about poetry is really living in the words that you write. It is easy to write "pretty" sentences, but it is hard to write true sentences and still have them considered "art" or "poetry". You did this very well here. I can tell that the objects, people, and animals that you wrote about have a real-world connection, this and many other aspects of this poem make it great. Great work!

Thank you so much for your comment. I have to agree completely with you. It is indeed difficult to write sentences like those. :) Thanks again, I really appreciate it.

I like this poem too. If you keep writing poetry as well as you do I'm gonna have to say your my offical favorite...But seriously it is really good.

this is indeed sad and yet intense...what can we do? When we have to move, we have to...even though we love everything about our beautiful old home which nourished us for such a long time...beautiful poem from a sensible and sensitive girl called ANGELA
