Too Much Of Anything
His heart with love so precious
Had care, warmth at the nucleus.
His words caressing and sweet
Bore no hint of deceit.
Little did she dream or realise
It was full of pretence and lies.
The overnight chats and daily greeting
Wore a cloak wrapped with cheating.
His promises that she is his life
Lay dead stabbed with a knife.
A better flight made his way
A bitter thought mourns her day.
Nothing hurts her heart so deep
Painful memories for ever to weep.
Too much of anything is poisonous
Be it love, affection or kindness.
