Why can't I just forget you

do I have to hurt so much,

my mind rewinds back to us

I still feel the linger of your touch.

I haven't slept for months now

see what your love has done to me,

how can my broken heart ever mend

when you consume my memory?

I've thrown away our pictures

and your T-shirt that I wore,

the scent of you was still on it

I couldn't fight my tears no more.

I couldn't speak past all my pain,

I just wanted to hear your voice

to feel my heart beat once again.

Then you said, " I know it's you "

and tell me you were wrong,

that you miss me oh so much

and without me you can't go on.

But I know it's just another lie

and she's still there with you,

how can you say those words to me

when you know it isn't true?

I'll have to go on without you

and dry these tears I cry,

I hope she makes you happy

for it's been a long goodbye.
