Sands Of Time

She's lost within the sands of time

only her tears can quench its thirst,

dark clouds gather overhead

she yearns for rain, but fears the worst.

She doesn't know just how she got here

In the solace of all this emptiness,

no-one to guide her weary heart

upon her cheeks a barren kiss.

Her thoughts are drifting further now

beyond the sands of time,

Into a long forgotten world

that's been hidden inside her mind.

A world where love bloomed and flourished

before the storm of lonliness blew in,

but it is just an illusion

a mirage of happiness again.
