The Frown Of A Clown
There is such sadness
in the frown of a clown,
a painted on smile
still a frown up-side down.
~*~
Tear stained cheeks
a trail of his pain,
alone on the streets
rejected again.
~*~
He wears a mask
but beneath a child's broken,
he is silently crying
his sorrow unspoken.
~*~
The frown of a clown
a heart that is shattered,
still he longs to bring laughter
though he's been sadly battered.
~*~
He strives on the streets
living lies to bring joy,
but there is no happiness
for this little boy.
