The Loss of a Classmate

Poetry By: Angelrose6
Poetry

A couple of days ago, one of my classmates commited suicide. It came as a shock to us all because he didn't seem like the type of person who would do such a thing. Nobody knows the reason why he did it, especially since he showed no signs that anything was wrong with him. I suck at writing poetry, but I wrote this poem, dedicated to him.

You laughed and joked
Your smile would brighten anyone’s day
You gave no sign that anything was wrong
Before we knew it you were gone

It came as a shock to us all
It was just to impossible to believe
You would never had done this
It had to be a mistake

But as the shock sank in
And the emotions flooded
Anger, sadness, denial, frustration, guilt
A river forming from our tears

No matter what, we’ll never forget you
We'll never forget your smiling face
Through us, your friends, family, and classmates
Through our memories, you’ll live on forever
