An account of an infant kidnapped.

Where i left you
an imprint lies
on the cushion of your cot,
shaped form
of a new born,
the blanket tossed to one side
not by sleepful kicks
but hands that pry,
as i went to fetch the bottle
dismissing your tearful cries,
Passing the window
I notice
the run down chevy
speeding off with a squeal
a sinking feeling resides
I know that license plate
that lonesome figure,
who stood watch
taking you out of the arms that love.
