Smooodge? Is there an emotional physical notion that I am not aware of?!!
Oh what love you pour into this poem! Amber, almond eyes sums up your regal thoughts for your feline lover!
I admire your ability to step outside the box which you so often do with your poems. There are no lines around AT.
By the end of reading, I could feel the purrrring, which, I'm certain, is your objective.
Very Cool AT.

Anna Therese:
Most well written and expressed "valentine". To one's own pet cat. Loyalty and affection from one's own pet is hard to duplicate. When another human being is the object of our affection. Serving to show how humans can learn some of the more noble human character traits from some of the other "critters" around us.
It is easier for a beloved pet cat or dog to not betray their owners. For a variety of reasons. The most important of which may be: "They cannot talk!". Most enjoyable.
Gave it an "I Like It" vote.
Will "catch-up" with reading your other postings. Will append "I Like It" votes. At times, without commenting.
Happy trails,
Ed Bradley.

Aww, how sweet! I could just imagine it, great imagery, Anna. Especially loved the "pad, pad, softly" for some reason it stuck the whole way through. Really enjoyed this one! ~ Nixie

What a beauty, Anna! Read this poem several times - it smoothed out the wrinkles of my mind, caused by a hectic day and having to deal with lazy and inefficient subordinates. It flowed like silk against my mind, leaving it soft and smooth with a gentle glow. I have a dog who welcomes me with boundless joy every time I return home and I could really relate. The last stanza made me smile, with the focus on another black cat, drinking black coffee and padding medium softly! Hope the coffee was hot and strong!

Very beautifully written! I'm not a huge cat person, being allergic and all, but I really think they're great animals. This seems to hit the mark.

I've never though of myself as a cat lover. I always felt more of a dog person (I have certainly been called a dog), but since I have been married (nearly twenty years now) we have had CATS.
I have grown to like some of them (the ones that like me). I think we have had five so far. Salem (all black), Ranger, Nutsy, Cassie and Boo. This poem reminds me of our current cat, BOO. He is all black, just like your picture. He is a character.
Thanks for sharing,
Hope all is well and take care,
Ted

well Anna first i want to comment on the structure. It's unusual but beautifully written. i works wonderfully well. The stanzas seem to have that quick elegant grace about them; snappy with image replacing image, and then they roll into poetic prose which seems to capture the essence of the images in each stanza. I may not have explained this very well but in short I love the pace and structure of this piece. Also you catch the feelings you have in regard your cat, or anything animal or person which makes us feel loved and wanted, or rather, makes us feel special. In saying that I have a cat but I think all he really cares about is food. I tell him he’ll get fat but he takes no notice. I do love the poem tho

I love this! You really evoke why it is that the bond between people and animals is so special. It reminds me of my kitty. Plus, now I don't feel like a crazy cat lady. :P
